As an art student, he was cited in the Metrobank Art Competition, Shell National Student Art Competition and Philip Morris Philippine Art Awards of 2003 and held his first one-man show the year after. In 2005 and 2006, he again made it to the roster of finalists in the Philip Morris Philippine Art Awards. In addition to holding regular solo and group shows, Quirante teaches art at De La Salle Benilde and serves as the front man of the electro-industrial rock band SWITCH.
