Nomadic Birds • Waling Gorospe

Apr 8 to Apr 28, 2015 • Video Room

Australia-based artist Waling Gorospe’s solo exhibition of new paintings, titled Nomadic Birds, chronicles the artist’s close observations of avian life in the wild: peregrine and nomadic creates constantly on the move.

Encountered across her travels across Australia’s vast lands, these bird species such as herons, spinifex pigeons and ospreys were documented by Gorospe through photographs and later on painted on canvas. The artist discovered a personal affinity with the nomadic nature of birds: lingering in an area for long periods of time but eventually always moving on, free and wandering.
